Stacie Lovell

Founder & Director Licentiate NATD | ADFP Championship Adjudicator

Stacie Lovell has been turning passion into legacy since launching her dance business in 2008. A lifelong dancer whose dream began in childhood, Stacie trained across the UK under some of the industry’s most respected teachers, gaining expertise in a wide variety of dance genres. As a Licentiate member of the National Association of Teachers of Dancing (NATD) and a qualified ADFP

Championship Adjudicator, Stacie brings both technical excellence and professional credibility to everything she does. She is the proud founder of one of Leicester’s most successful and respected dance schools, now with multiple branches across the city. Her school is home to World,

British, and DK champions, and offers a wide range of opportunities for dancers of all levels. Stacie also runs her own fully equipped dance studio, designed as a safe haven where everyone is welcome. The school provides NATD exam training, access to international ADFP competitions, and hosts annual shows and performances that showcase student talent and passion.

With an unwavering commitment to quality, community, and creativity, Stacie continues to lead with heart—proving that a dream, when pursued with purpose, can become something truly extraordinary.

Matia Martin

Dance Instructor Commercial & Soca Specialist

Matia Martin’s dance journey began at SLDA, where she trained from a young age before advancing her skills at Addict Dance Academy. With a strong foundation and a passion for performance, Matia returned to SLDA as a teacher and has been an integral part of the team for the past 7 years.

Specialising in Commercial and Soca, Matia brings high energy, creativity, and cultural pride to every class. She is also the driving force behind Leicester’s Caribbean Carnival winning troupe, known for its vibrant choreography and dynamic presence.

Matia is passionate about inspiring dancers to express themselves boldly and authentically, both on stage and in the studio. Her infectious enthusiasm and commitment to her craft make her a favourite among students and a true ambassador for Caribbean dance culture.

Brogan

Brogan has been apart of SLDA for nearly 1 year. Brogan is in process of graduating from addict dance academy, where she has trained for 5 years in BTEC, HND and BA Hons course’s. During Brogans training, she has been fortunate enough to work along side industry led choreographers from all over the world and be apart of the Take1 Team in Nottingham.

Brogan performed in the first Half Time show at Move It in 2024 choreographed by Ben Davies, Ollie Botterill and Gareth Woodward. Aswell as this, Brogan also performed at Wembley Arena London at CrouchFest 2023 behind Peter Crouch and with Rudimental.

Brogan also performed at Breaking Convention 2023 at The Royal Concert Hall. Brogans loves sharing her passion and dedication towards dance and performing ;teaching children all over the UK and continues to audition in London for industry led jobs.

Freya Newcombe

I am currently training at Addict Dance Academy, working towards a BA (Hons) degree in Performing Arts (Dance). My daily training covers a wide range of styles, including commercial, hip hop, jazz, Latin, and ballet, helping me develop strong technique and versatility as a performer.

Through this intensive program, I am deepening my understanding of performance, as well as the commitment and professionalism required in the dance industry. Prior to Addict, I trained for 14 years at SLDA specialising in freestyle disco and slow dance. During this time, I competed across the country, achieving multiple titles and gaining extensive stage experience. The skills I developed through freestyle continue to influence my training and performance today. I am excited to be returning to SLDA as a teacher, where I will be sharing my knowledge and passion for freestyle and slow dance with the next generation of dancers

Liam

Liam has been a part of the freestyle world for over 18 years, affiliated to the IDTA and ADFP he is a championship chair adjudicator. Leiam is also a member of the Adfp acro committee. Liam is Committed to running a safe, fun and enjoyable atmosphere when teaching. Experienced freestyle dance & acro teacher delivering specialist training to competitors of all ages. Liam has had the privilege of training dancers who have gone on to well established competitive careers as well as successful professional careers. Some of those achievements include; World champions, British champions, Disco kid champion, Diva champions, Classique de danse nominees, Carl Alan nominee’s and he is a Carl Alan nominee and Diva award nominee.

Professionally Liam has had the opportunity of Choreographing for The Olympic torch passing ceremony For London Olympics 2012, as well as shows for the Liberal Democrat’s party and home office. He has choreographed for her majesty’s theatre in London, Held lectures for the Adfp northern area, southern area, wales and west area and midland area. He has had the privilege of guest lecturing in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Norway and South Africa!
